Feathers of Love and Peace Residence

Feathers of Love and Peace

Feathers of Love and Peace is the interior design of the communal spaces of a residential building in Taoyuan, Taiwan. The design refers to the work of Pablo Picasso and to the themes of love and peace. The main staircase in the lobby uses geometric forms shaped by hollowing, cutting, stacking and reorganizing to suggest a dove with open wings. A reception area, a lounge and a children playroom follow. The gym has floor to ceiling windows facing green landscapes. Renewable wood panels, natural stone and low carbon cement are used.

Dan Mo Residence

Dan Mo

Dan Mo is a retirement residence completed in February 2020 in Taichung, covering 440 square meters. The lotus flower inspired the design, and the architectural elements portray the parallel pattern seen on lotus petals. Mortar is applied to the surfaces with a special technique that makes the material tougher, denser and resistant to wind and rain. Apart from external tile cladding used to channel water, no further surface treatment is applied, which reduces material consumption. A circular path on the first floor links the function spaces and supports family interaction.

For Two Residence

For Two

For Two is a residential interior design created for two people in Taiwan. The plan removes the traditional living room and the enclosed partitions. Glass partitions and floor-to-ceiling windows draw light inside and frame the greenery outside. Sliding doors keep privacy, and track lighting under the beams reduces the visual weight of the structure.
